I got my cover art from my very talented designer, Stefanie from Seventh Star…and I went wild with it!
I saw the email from Seventh Star at 12:46am and immediately ran to my mom’s room to open the email together. We were utterly starstruck and physically gasped in unison. When I initially found this artist, I knew right away. Seeing her portfolio felt like that moment you see your baby for the first time (all jokes, I’m not a mother yet LOL). When we started the conversation of what I wanted out of the cover art, I gave her every symbolic visual from the book. And boy, did she run with it.
I was so over the moon, I knew I had to blow it up on TikTok! The three videos I posted were timed an hour apart: 7:13pm, 8:13pm, and 9:13pm. (I’ll let you decipher that on your own *winky face*)
7:13pm video: I revealed the cover art.
8:13pm video: I announced a giveaway for PR boxes to launch The Pawn and The Puppet! Yes, I’m going all out for this baby. I’m talking character candles from The Reading Portal, custom asylum tea from BooksNleaf, The Pawn and The Puppet symbolic quotes and stickers from Sweet Vintage Collective, and a surprise tumbler or two from Chismosa Cups! (And more surprises as well!)
9:13pm video: The release date has FINALLY made its way out of my head and into the world!
April 1st, 2022 is the day, and no, it is not a trick. Fellow Booktoker and upcoming Bi Fantasy Author Piper CJ came up with the marketing idea to set a date no one will easily forget!
Thank you all for showing me mountains of love, kind words, and crazy hype that helped this book launch become bigger than I ever thought possible. I LOVE YOU BOOK BABIES MORE THAN ANYTHING!
